Hello everyone and welcome to Reaching Lost Souls blog! I hope you enjoy your stay and enjoy reading these posts. My sincere wish is that this will inspire more people to get out and spread the Gospel (good news) of Jesus Christ so that his name may be glorified more and his harvest increased. God is sovereign but he uses each of us in his plans, so it's very important that we listen and obey his command from Matthew 28:18-20 in his word, the Bible (New Living Translation):
18 Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. 19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”.
Remember, Jesus is with us always! When we feel scared of what men (or women) will think of us when we share the gospel with them, Jesus is with us. I am scared and nervous all the time (I am a huge introvert). The Bible isn't specific on how to share the Gospel, but it is commanded that we should. As long as we are sincerely trying, God will honor the attempts. It's not our job to convert souls. We reach out to them, but God gives the increase. He is the one who saves. Even if people tell us "No" flat out, even if they curse us or our God, we have obeyed and God will bless us for that. Our reward is not an earthly one, but a heavenly one. Some of us may do better (produce more fruit) than others, but we all serve the same God known by many names such as El Shaddai (God almighty), Elohim (Plurality or fullness of God / Supreme ruler), Adonai (Lord or Master), Yahweh (God's personal name given to be remembered throughout all ages) and many more. So don't fret if it seems like our attempts aren't getting anywhere and we're not seeing the souls being won to God. His word never returns to him void or empty and his will be done! He shall accomplish what he pleases always. He is sovereign and there can be no one to overcome him, or his people if we are in Christ. We shall overcome in the end no matter what happens in this life, if we just repent of our sins and have faith in Jesus (fully human and fully God) that he died on a cross as a sacrifice for our sins, and was resurrected on the third day, defeating death and sin forever, to the glory of God!
It is for this reason that we spread his word and good news; His two commandments, "Love God with all heart, soul, and mind" (Matthew 22:37) and "Love your neighbor as yourself", demand that we share God with others. If we love God, we will obey his command to make disciples. If we love our neighbors (everyone around us), we can't just let them go to hell without trying to tell them about Jesus. How are we to know if they are saved or not, especially if we don't even bring up the Gospel? A famous preacher by the name of Charles Spurgeon once said,
“Have you no wish for others to be saved? Then you're not saved yourself, be sure of that!”
